Hard Landing
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is the result of at least one very hard water landing followed by an attempted takeoff with damaged flaps (split flap; one up, one down) with ensuing roll back into the water at high speed. The airplane is incredibly strong, but isn't bulletproof. If you should experience a hard landing, please stop, get out, and inspect the airplane for damage before attempting another takeoff, even if it's very inconvenient to do so. It's interesting to note that the pilot and passenger were uninjured, even though they had a very bad day.
